The bulk carrier ship "JIA YANG" set sail from COSCO Dalian Shipyard on the 3rd January 2010. The shipowner, JIASHENG Shipping Group Co.,Ltd., presented a banner to COSCO Dalian Shipyard to express their appreciation.
"JIA YANG" had been recently purchased by the JIASHENG Shipping Group Co.,Ltd.. The crew took her over after only 6 days familiarisation. After arrival in the yard, serious damage was found in the boiler. If, following extended general repair, she would miss the allowed lead time for her next contract, it would cause great loss to the owner. In this circumstance, COSCO Dalian Shipyard were able to exercise the spirit of "Service first, Prestige first" to adjust the repair schedule and effectively coordinate the yard's labour and material. It accomplished all the repair work, including boiler re-tubing, in only 27 days. All of these efforts ensured "JIA YANG" sailed as planned and avoided big losses for the owner. The service was highly praised by the shipowner.
