March 22nd, the cooperation between KOMAC & COSCO Shipyard Group emerged in agreement upon establishment of COSCO-KOMAC Design Center, which marks the tremendous step of COSCO Shipyard expanding her ship design capability up towards world-class level. Dr. Dong Shik Shin, Chairman of KOMAC and President Wang of COSCO Shipyard signed the contract representing the two parties.
Korea is the leading country in shipbuilding industry, while KOMAC stands as the first and largest private ship design company with its own design team winning the good reputation around the world. It has completed over 1200 design projects for large container vessels, VLCC, etc. They are also attending and supervising vessels' construction.
Believing this cooperation will urge COSCO Shipyard absorb the advanced technology to drive Chinese shipbuilding development. |
