On 26th September, COSCO NANTONG Shipyard held steel cutting ceremony for 350POB Accommodation Barge, which was awarded by Exmar offshore Ltd. Mr. Patrick Englebert, Project manager of Exmar, representative of ABS, Mr. Long Quan and top management of COSCO Nantong Shipyard witnessed the ceremony.
This accommodation barge with 8-point mooring system will comprise a non-propelled flat top barge, equipped with an accommodation block for 350 persons and a working deck for inter-field stores and containers. The barge will also provide storage and bunkering facilities for inter-field potable water and diesel oil.
As it is the first EPCC project, shipyard needs to provide a complete solution for the owner. Yard had organized a strong project team to support this turnkey project from basic engineering design, until final commissioning to delivery this vessel on the schedule within the budget control.
The project team was established in July, and pre-engineering had been carried out since March 2007, so far bulk material had been purchased and the preparation work of construction has being carried on smoothly. |
