On Dec. 28th, 2009, Mr. Haozenghui, the Vice General Manager from Commercial Headquarters of the COSCO SHIPYARD GROUP, received an email from Mr. Yoshimura, the General Manager of Hachiuma Steamship, Japan, which said that "our managed vessel M/V SHIN SAKAIDE has completed dock work at COSCO Zhoushan as per schedule and we thank you very much." Such a wonderful comment delighted everyone concerned: proof that all the effort we made for SHIN SAKAIDE was worth it.
The main task for this vessel was the blasting of 7 cargo holds and less than 100 meters of hatch cover hydraulic pipe renewals within 12 days as per the original specification. After her arrival on Dec.12th and being checked on the spot, the task of renewal of the hydraulic pipes was increased to 800 meters, much more than original. However, the schedule was still fixed at the same 12 days, without any postponement, as required by the ship owner.
With deep concern for the relationship with Hachiuma, COSCO Shipyard Group felt that it must pay the best possible attention to do a good job for SHIN SAKAIDE. The ship repair team succeeded in making a perfect working plan and solved the difficulties one by one. Firstly, they arranged enough labor to renew the piping whilst avoiding affecting the cargo holds blasting. Meanwhile, the docking space was managed properly, and adjustments to the docking time were optimized according to the job progress. The combined efforts of the shipyard and the ship's own team ensured that SHIN SAKIDE was successfully repaired, all the required jobs were completed and the vessel sailed on Christmas Day as agreed.
Now, in view of the good cooperation for SHIN SAKIDE, Mr. Hao Zenghui has invited Mr. Yoshimura to fly to Shanghai to discuss and plan future cooperation and he happily accepted the invitation. We are sure that the relationship between COSCO Shipyard Group and HACHIUMA will be further strengthened and more fruitful cooperation can be expected. |
